Heavy Hearts

When my heart is heavy, I find the most comfort and solace in singing God’s praises.

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name1

The sun comes up
It’s a new day dawning
It’s time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass
And whatever lies before me
Let me be singing
When the evening comes1

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

You’re rich in love
And You’re slow to anger
Your name is great
And Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness
I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons
For my heart to find

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name
Bless You Lord

And on that day
When my strength is failing
The end draws near
And my time has come
Still my soul will
Sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years
And then forevermore
Forevermore

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Oh my soul
Worship His Holy name
Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship Your Holy name

I’ll worship Your Holy name
Jesus I will worship Your Holy name

Sing like never before
Oh my soul
I’ll worship your holy name

One thought to “Heavy Hearts”

  1. Amen.

Thank you for this post. You brought me to search out Scriptures.

I found a passage to share, and found a personally message just for me in the same Psalm, 89.

U-2 performed a song titled “40” years ago. This is the passage that inspired Bono’s lyrics:

“I waited patiently for the Lord and He inclined to me and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction
Out of the miry clay and He set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm
He put a new song in my mouth
A song of praise to our God
Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord (Psalm 40).

So, here is my contribution. Psalm 89:11-13.

    Blessings to you!
