This is our time to shine the light of Jesus to a world that is living in fear and darkness. We have this living hope in our hearts and it’s time to show what being a Jesus follower truly means. Use this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus, show compassion and love where you see a lack or a need, give and not take, seek out those who won’t ask for help but offer and be ready to follow through.
“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.””
It’s not that the virus is going to kill you, the chances of that are extremely slim. The chances that due to the rapid rate of infection (4-5 days of showing no symptoms) people would unknowingly infect others that could potentially be hospitalized are greater, which would end up being a whole other issue once hospitals have met capacity & medical personnel are short staffed, etc: THIS is the reason precautions have been put in place, to prevent this very scenario.
“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.”
There’s no reason to freak out, even with the media (social media even more so) causing a pain OR the opposite end of the spectrum, apathy. Carelessness based on individual perceptions – whichever source one follows or trusts, their bias, etc. – will absolutely cause just as much danger to others!
As someone that falls in that category of compromised immune system & one with several family members undergoing cancer treatments and other high risk health issues; I’m asking, can we just use common sense with caution, all while laying off with this selfishness!?! Social distancing is not a punishment or even a conspiracy, it’s a very real solution to saving people’s lives!
After all, “Just because you can do something, does not mean you should!” ~ probably everyone’s Momma at one point in life!
