Waiting on God

When I read Luke 3 this morning, I normally try to glance over any of the genealogy that I come across -besides not being able to pronounce most of the names, I didn’t look at them as something to encourage me – but today, I believe God spoke to my heart through those very scriptures.

Through the genealogy of Jesus, we see the generations God created, each life is a story. A man and his family, not all of their struggles or miracles are recorded but each life was built on the life before it. God knew who each child needed as a parent and grandparent, and since He knows the hairs of our head (Luke 12:7) we know that even the smallest circumstance surrounding each individual are never a surprise to God! So instead of giving into stress and worry, we need to turn these burdens that weigh us down over to the very One who created us and holds us in His hands.

Luke 3

When you’re waiting on God, remember that God’s timing is perfect – never too late and never too early! He knew before He had created Adam – that He would have to send Jesus! The reminder God gave me today was just that, a reminder of HIS Word: This is why God tells us to Trust in Him and lean not on our understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6), that His ways are higher (Isaiah 55:8-9), and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), what seems impossible for us is possible with God (Matthew 19:26), God’s Word will not return to Him void and will finish what He sent it to fulfill (Isaiah 55:10-11), He knew us before He formed us and set us apart (Jeremiah 1:5), we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, (1 Peter 2:9) and that perhaps we were created for a time such as this (Esther 4:14).

There is no area of our lives that God doesn’t want to be a part of and there’s nothing He delights in more than seeing His child living out their lives through the very promises that He’s already given us. Grab onto His Word, speak it out over your family, live for Him – shining His light for others to see and give Him the glory for the miracles that surround us; in doing so, we are giving back to God what was always His to begin with!
